When Should You Change Your Lock?
- Moving into a new apartment or house — you don't know who has copies of the existing keys
- After a break-in or attempted break-in
- Lost or stolen keys
- End of a tenancy or change of flatmates
- Lock is worn, stiff, or showing signs of tampering
Which Lock Is Right for Germany?
German locks follow DIN standards. Most apartments use a Profilzylinder (profile cylinder). For higher security, we recommend locks certified to DIN EN 1627 resistance class RC 2 or RC 3 — these are often required by German home insurance policies for full burglary coverage.
We stock and fit locks from leading manufacturers including ABUS, Evva, Mul-T-Lock, and Kaba. We advise on the right product for your door, budget, and insurance requirements.
What the Service Includes
- Removal of the old cylinder
- Fitting the new lock cylinder (correct length for your door)
- Function test and adjustment
- Handover of all keys with receipt
Pricing
A standard lock change (labour + mid-range cylinder) typically costs €80 to €180. High-security cylinders are priced separately. We quote before starting work.
